Nepal News

As most of you know, I lived in Nepal for 2 years. I like to keep up with all things Nepal and there have been some major changes in Nepal today.

After a 2 year fight to abolish the monarchy, Nepal no longer has a King, Queen or Royal family.

Nepal's now former King Gyanendra, seized power in 2001 when his brother, King Birendra, and his family were massacred in the palace by the crown prince, who later "shot himself" (the gun shot wounds were suspiciously in his back....) Gyanendra has always denied rumors that he had played a role in that event.

Fast forward to a crazy scene today outside of the Royal Palace as the former King and his wife left the palace bound for a new home on the outskirts of Kathmandu. As the King and Queen, they have been worshipped as Hindu deities and now they are considered "commoners."

I can only hope and pray that all of these changes are for the better. This country and her people hold such a special place in my's hard to put my love for Nepal into words. Instead I will just offer this verse...hoping that they will see that there is only ONE deity to worship....and He will never be dethroned.

Acts 17:24-25

"God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. "

***This video is the only one of its kind I could find's not the greatest quality, but it is good enough to give you a glimpse into Nepal***
