If I hear one more beep.....

For the past 2 weeks, there has been a war raging in Unit 1471.
Our enemy?...the smoke alarm.
Our weapon of choice?....the mop (or anything else long enough to hit the smoke alarm)

The latest battle took place Tuesday night. There we were minding our own business, watching The Ten Commandments on tv, and our smoke alarm just starts going crazy for no apparent reason. We turned fans on, investigated to make sure there wasn't a real fire, and tried to silence the most piercing beeps I've ever heard. Everything was back to normal for a while, then this whole cycle repeated itself....every 8 minutes. We called the emergency maintenance number...no one called back. Finally around midnight, we made the 15 minute trip to Lacey's parents house to crash on their guest bed at their beep free house.

When we returned to our place Wednesday morning, we started getting ready for work, and after about 2 minutes, the alarms started going off again. It's almost like they knew we were back.

Needless to say, we were not happy campers, and after many conversations with Gary, our sweet maintenance man, he came to install a new main alarm. So far so good. Unit 1471 is beep free once again.....for how long?

all you need is a good alarm system, say a DMP one... no more beeping...
